Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 – Your Obligations

Within Victoria, the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 seeks to secure the health, safety and welfare of employees and other persons at work by eliminating, at the source, risks to the health, safety or welfare of employees and other persons at work.

The Act imposes a duty on an employer to be proactive, and take all reasonably practicable measures, to ensure health and safety at workplaces and in the conduct of undertakings by eliminating risks to health and safety and if it is not reasonably practicable to eliminate risks to health and safety, to reduce those risks so far as is reasonably practicable.

Should you need any help in undertaking your risk assessments or developing your response framework and underpinning plans, Datum Services can assist.
